“Towards a Global Cultural Citizenship”

In April 2014, more than 350 international artists, academics and cultural representatives as well as interested EU-citizens were gathered to discuss the results of the “Preparatory Action” on developing an EU strategy to mobilise the potential of culture in external relations. The discussions and feedback from the conference are integrated into the final report that will be published on 10 June 2014 with a video-message from commissioner Androulla Vassiliou. The report will be available as an e-book on cultureinexternalrelations.eu.

The report presents the Lessons learned from the 26 country reports as well as Recommendations for ways forward expressed through guiding principles and concrete suggestions for pilot projects.

Until publication, please visit the Culture in External Relations website to see photos from the conference, the video highlights of the 2 days (available soon), the report of the conference itself, along with video-interviews with Dutch MEP Marietje Schaake, Georgian film-maker Zaza Rusadze and chief executive of the British Council Sir Martin Davidson.
