The Baroque Music Festival organized by EUNIC Tokyo was a great opportunity to listen to some of the most exquisite compositions of classical music that belong in this artistic style that took place between the 17th and 18th centuries in Europe. By comparing baroque compositions from countries such as Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany and Austria we could identify some common general traits but also get a glimpse of each country’s unique musical style and taste.
The event counted with the participation of four great Japanese musicians: soprano Midori Suzuki, violinist Yuko Araki, cellist Hidemi Suzuki and harpsichordist Naoki Ueo.
