The Art of Poetry revolves around what has always been one of the main instruments used by humankind in order to express the widest range of feelings and emotions: love, rage, passion, despair, hope… The power of words is such that literally everything can be expressed through them, and always will.
Europe’s cultural and idiomatic diversity, as well as the interaction between different countries, has helped develop a number of artistic movements throughout history. Contemporary European poetry offers a remarkable insight into the new millennia blooming trends.
In order to celebrate this art, which dates back to the origins of languages themselves, and to promote the exchange between Japanese and European literary traditions, EUNIC Japan invited authors from nine different countries to recite their own compositions in front of the audience. Japanese translations of the poems will be provided.
